A double whammy of Covid and Brexit is seriously affecting the supply-chain for so many British fisherman right now and there's plenty of amazing seafood going around which we just cannot see wasted.
This week we are getting hold of some truly beautiful Scottish langoustines - thriving in deep waters lochs and the coastal seas of the West highlands, Scottish langoustines make up a third of the world's supply and are as good as you'll find anywhere.
No longer destined for a Spanish bodega, Susanna is bringing them up to London and we are selling them cheap! You can get 6 langoustines for just £7.50 - it's a great deal and helps out Scottish fishermen at a time when they really need your support.
We like to cook ours in gently simmering water for 3-4 minutes and eat them with lemon and home-made mayo, but you should also try them with fresh pasta. Check out Stevie's recipe for langoustines, mussels and clams (all available on our shop) with fresh paccheri pasta here.
You don't have to suck the heads (although we highly recommend it) but do make sure to crack open those claws to get at the delicate, sweet meat inside.
